Canadian Physiotherapy Association Announces Strategic Plan and New CEO

The Canadian Physiotherapy Association; a long-time Association Client of The Planning Group made an important announcement this week. First, they announced the release of their Strategic Plan, and appointed Krissy Bell as their new Chief Executive Officer. You can read the full press release. This was a critical announcement, because the Canadian physiotherapy Association will be instrumental in helping physiotherapists in their role to transform the Healthcare System in Canada in the coming years. The Canadian physiotherapy Association will take a more stronger position of advocacy and thought leadership and advocate to expand the reach of the CPA, working with their branches across the country, and to bringing their divisions together in a way that will have profound impacts on physiotherapy in Canada.

The Planning Group was very happy to be involved in the creation of the Strategic plan, with the board of directors over the course of a year; first to help prepare the board and Senior leaders to face some of the big questions that the association needed to answer in their strategy in our process called “strategic planning readiness.” We then we assisted the board to define their Practical Vision of where the association wants to be specifically and practically in a few years. We also helped CPA senior leadership to define the Strategic imperatives and where they must direct their time, money effort and resources in the coming years. The Planning Group will have a role going forward assisting the CPA to help evolve and enhance the role of their divisions to drive thought leadership and create evidenced based content for professional development. Again, we’re delighted to announce the appointment of Chrissy Bell as the chief executive officer of the Canadian physiotherapy Association and the release of the Strategic plan for the CPA.
